POSTURE
- Feet shoulder width
- Weight evenly distributed
- Knees not locked – springy
- Hands at side
- Upper body lifted (imagine a string at back of head)
- Relaxed!
BREATHING
- Breathe low
- Expand rib-cage at FRONT and BACK
- Relaxed shoulders
OPEN THROAT
- Drop tongue
- Lift soft palette (like when you yawn)
- Inhale quickly on “kah”
- Relaxed
OPEN MOUTH
- Relax the jaw
- Chin dropped (especially on Ah, O and Oo)
- Let the sound out!
SUPPORT
- From low
- From the butt when you need it!
“BRIGHT” VOWELS
- Bring vowels forward to increase resonance
- Feel vibrations in the mask
- Practice ridiculously forward (nasal) then bring back slightly
