Announcements Week of: APRIL 8, 2026

This week’s announcements include concert dress, tickets, mixed formation, soul food, next week’s sectionals, and the V.O.N. community gig. Read on for more info.

Concert

CONCERT DRESS (Skot Caldwell)

Liam has asked that we again wear our “skittles” attire: solid coloured shirts and black bottoms. (There was discussion about “Aloha” style shirts but a mass of patterns has in the past been viewed by our audience as hard to look at, and also we didn’t want to create an expectation that people had to buy shirts. Liam didn’t want inconsistency–some people in Hawaiian shirts and some in solids). If you would like to add a lei or a big festive necklace, go for it. No hats please, they create all kinds of problems. There may be a song where we don sunglasses–stay tuned.

TICKETS! (Skot Caldwell)

Tickets for our May concert go on sale tonight! They will be available before and after most or rehearsals till then. $20 and $10. Thanks to Kathleen Harding and Sarah Welham for managing that process.
Tickets are now also available online at our website! Same prices plus a $2.89 surcharge. Thanks to Susan Hara for managing that process.

MIXED FORMATION (Diana Hopkins-Rosseel)

We are in mixed formation at rehearsal tonight. Please let your section leader know your needs re: vocal support.

Volunteers

SOUL FOOD (Wendy Stewart)

Volunteers to deliver Soul Food are needed going forward. Please sign up at the library table.
A reminder that Soul Food be a maximum of 2 minutes to respect rehearsal time.

Community Gigs

V.O.N. LUNCH COMMUNITY GIG (Dianne Dowling)

All are welcome to join this event, even if you haven’t signed up yet.
Friday April 10 at Bay Park Baptist Church, 775 Progress Ave. Park in the rear and enter from the back entrance.
Warm up and rehearse: 11:35 AM – 12:10 PM. Performance: 12:15 PM – 12:45 PM.
Lunch will NOT be provided, but some of the group may grab a bite afterwards.
Music will be selected from what we have done this year. It is available to print from the website, if you do have your copies already.
