Announcements Week of:  MAY 13th, 2026

T-minus 2.5 weeks before concert!! This week’s announcements include a reminder about concert dress, a few calls for volunteers, an upcoming community gig, and next week’s sectionals. Read on to make sure you’re in the know.

Concert

CONCERT DRESS    (Skot Caldwell)

  • Liam has asked that we again wear our “skittles” attire:  solid coloured shirts and black bottoms.  (There was discussion about “Aloha” style shirts but a mass of patterns has in the past been viewed by our audience as hard to look at, and also we didn’t want to create an expectation that people had to buy shirts. Liam didn’t want inconsistency–some people in Hawaiian shirts and some in solids).  If you would like to add a lei or a big festive necklace, go for it.  No hats please, they create all kinds of problems.  There may be a song where we don sunglasses–stay tuned.

Volunteers

FRONT OF HOUSE NON-SINGING VOLUNTEERS NEEDED    (Linda Williams)

… for each concert on May 30, to help with ticket sales, ticket collection, etc.

  • Volunteers would work 12:45-2pm or 6:15-7-30. Talk to your friends and relatives to see if they’d help out. 6 needed per show.
  • See sign-up sheet on bulletin board next week, or email linda.doro.williams@gmail with name and contact info of the volunteer.

CREW VOLUNTEERS NEEDED  (Skot Caldwell)

  • Volunteers are needed for:
    • Set-up:  Tuesday, May 26th, 4:00pm
    • Tech: Tuesday, May 26th, 5:00pm
    • Take-down:  Monday, June 1st, 5:00pm
    • Storage Room:  Wednesday, June 3rd, 4:00pm
  • Sign up sheets in the rehearsal hall!

Community Gigs

CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR MEGHAN DUCA

  • 2pm Sunday May 24 at the Stanton Banquet Hall at Rideau Acres Campground, 1014 Cunningham Rd., Kingston. All welcome.
    • Meet on the 1st floor of Banquet Hall at 1:15 to warm up.
  • Please bring music to rehearsal May 20: Bridge Over Troubled Water, Here Comes the Sun.
  • Help needed:
    • 2 or 3 truck/van drivers and movers to transport chairs and sound equipment after dress rehearsal Sat May 23, or Sun morning about 11:30 and return to Cookes-Portsmouth Sun. afternoon. Please connect withLinda, linda.doro.williams@gmail, if you are able.
