Announcements Week of: October 8, 2025
This week’s announcements involved an intro to section leaders, an invitation to board meetings, a check-in about membership emails and the Expression of Interest list, amongst other things like volunteer requests. Oh! And Liam is still looking forward to reading your letter to him – so don’t forget to do that!
Artistic Director
- SOUL FOOD HOMEWORK FOR LIAM
- Liam is still looking forward to receiving a letter from each choir member in response to his request.
- His request, as a reminder: “Write a letter dated May 30, 2026, when our year ends and the letter must begin with these words: Dear Liam, This year at Open Voices was successful and fruitful because… and then fall passionately in love with yourselves and writing a letter describing who you will have become by the following May to justify this extraordinary year. Write about who you would be, who you could be, who you see yourself as if only that little voice in your head stopped telling you that you couldn’t do it.”
Administrative
- BOARD MEETINGS (Diana Hopkins-Rosseel)
- Reminder that all meetings of the OV Board of Directors are open and members are welcome to attend
- If you are interested in attending a meeting, please contact Linda Williams so that she may send you an agenda and ensure there is a seat for you at the meeting lindadorowilliams@gmail.com.
Concert
- CONCERT COMMITTEE (Skot Caldwell)
- If you might be interested in joining this committee, we’ll have a brief (less than 30 minute) meeting after normal rehearsal tonight, October 8th. There is a sign-up on the board, to give a sense of interest but also a sense of what tasks need doing.
- Tasks include: ticket production and sales, promotion, contact media, poster design, program design/production, after party planning, and crew.
- Apprenticeships between those who have been involved before and those who would like to get involved are welcome.

- TECH SET UP (Shawn Suenaga)
- There was an underwhelming response to this request announced last week.
- Shawn is still looking for volunteers to help with setting up the tech equipment before rehearsals
- If he can get one per section, he can accommodate the schedule in accordance with sectionals to avoid conflicts, and even correspond with sectionals of spouses, if applicable (i.e., when they have their sectional, you can be setting up)
